2018 Turkey Trot!

The Lummi Island Foundation for Education (LIFE) continues the family fun run tradition with the Second Annual Turkey Trot (formerly RUN4LIFE for four years running)!

The 5.8K (3.6 mile) Turkey Trot will start at 9am, rain or shine, and begin and end at the Beach Store Cafe on Lummi Island (2200 N. Nugent Road). Pop your turkey in the oven, lace up your sneakers, and head out with friends and family for fresh air and exercise. You'll probably be back home to baste the turkey by 10 or 10:30 am!

Race fee is $15 if you register by Friday, November 16.

Registrations received after November 16 and race-day registrations are $20. All Turkey Trot proceeds benefit LIFE's educational programming for Island youth.

Race-day registration opens at 8 - 8:45 am at the Beach Store Cafe.

Kids 12 and under are free and must be accompanied by an adult.

Virtually New!

Not a runner or fast walker but still want to support our Island kids? No problem! You can register as a VIRTUAL participant!

The captain of the largest registered team—which can include virtual participants!—will win a gift certificate from The Willows Inn for two tasting menu dinners (tax and gratuity included).

First-place adult winner wins their choice of pie (pumpkin, apple crumble, maple pecan) and a $75 Beach Store Cafe gift certificate. First-place child winner wins their choice of pie with parent/guardian permission.

Costumes and pets—and costumed pets—welcome! In fact, they're highly encouraged!

Pie bake sale

The 2018 Turkey Trot coincides with LIFE's other Thanksgiving Day fundraiser and favorite Island tradition—our homemade pie bake sale! Consider ordering a pie, come out for the run, and then hang out at the cafe for a slice and coffee, tea, or cider for purchase when you pick up your pie. There will be no regular food service—just pie and drink only.

All pie-eating and pick-ups will be completed by noon when the Beach Store Cafe will close.
