Snow-bruary

Thus ends a short month on the sea that confounded weather apps—even snowprising prognosticator Cliff Mass. Just as the month began with an unexpected flurry, the final days of February wrapped Lummi Island with up to six inches of snow, swirling the last of winter's magic like a bridal veil around her mountain.

Mail was suspended for two days on the most treacherous upland roads. The school bus curtailed as well. "Back in your day..." whatever. Our school kids do walk uphill in the snow, both ways.
