Knotty Knits

When I was taught to knit on nails for needles at age 8 by an uncle who learned to knit during World War II, little did I know that it would result in a lifelong love of fibers and creativity.

Knotty Knits was born through a desire to share my love of lovely, natural wools with active Lummi Islanders via hats that fit under bike and ski helmets, and fingerless gloves for those not-quite-glove-weather days. Knitting is a soothing endeavor that provides lovely tactile and textural experiences while producing original and functional results.

Knotty Knits can usually be found at Lummi Island Artists’ Studio Tours, Lummi Island Saturday Markets, and the Holiday Bazaar, and year-round at Sisters’ Mercantile in the Islander Store.  I also gratefully accept orders/inquiries by email, phone, or on Facebook.
